Body Parts For Sale: Inquire Within

So a week and half into the new job and everything seems to be going OK. For the most part I am being asked to run machines while others are being set-up, but I find it interesting the products we are making.

Most of the stuff we make is for surgical instruments. One day I'll be making a bolt used for fusing your back together, the next I'm making a pin that is used in heart replacement procedures.

So if anybody needs a replacement knee cap, a new hinge for your jaw bone, or perhaps a new hip please feel free to email me and I'll deliver as soon as possible. Meanwhile, I'll get back to work on my remote controlled titanium anus prototype.

Sometimes It's Safe To Assume

Wal-Mart heir John Walton died in a plane crash on Monday. The only thing that I found strange about the whole ordeal is that the news agencies kept saying "there is an autopsy planned to determine the cause of death"

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that he died... BECAUSE HE FELL THOUSANDS OF FEET OUT OF THE SKY AND DID A HEADER INTO A SLAB OF ROCK!!

It's Friggan Hot!!

I hate hot weather. Not necessarily the heat but when it's combined with 100% humidity some people have been known to say I get a little bit irritable. Ok, ok, ok I admit, I can get down right pissed off.

Last week during class I was standing next one of the machines and talking with the instructor. The whole time he was telling me a story I was standing there sweating my ass off.... and we weren't even moving around! He must of thought I was some sort of circus freak but he did his best to ignore me.

I'm still not used to the moisture in the air compared to Vancouver. Yesterday and today's highs hit in the mid 90's and whenever I went outside it was muggy and sticky as hell. I walked about a hundred feet to put a letter in the mailbox and had to come back in to take a shower. This is nuts! Meanwhile, I check the 10 day forecast for the Vancouver area and it lists scattered showers and a high of 67 for the next week and a half! Ugh, I could go for some of that right about now. But relief is on it's way as the rest of the week looks like it's going to cool down a bit, which will give me a chance to unplug the air conditioner I had installed in my rear pocket.

I know I'm only 29 years old and have no idea what my future holds for me but I know one thing for damn sure..... I am NOT heading for Florida when I retire.

Heeellllll no.

Tomorrow's The Big Day

After a couple of interviews it looks like I landed myself a new job...... but with one catch. Tomorrow morning at 9:00AM I have to go take a drug screening test before I can be placed within this new company. Oh man.... I'm screwed!

Actually I'm kidding. I'm absolutely sure that I'll pass but the only down side is that the results take up to two days to get back to my potential new employer so now I won't be able to start my new job until Wednesday or Thursday. Oh well, I got a whole lot of nothing I can do until then, which will probably be my last vacation until December when we plan on going back to Canada for Christmas.

I can't imagine what it will be like working along side people who aren't drunk, high, or stoned all the time. Also, the commute to and from work is only about 20 minutes long and doesn't involve going down any of those dreaded congested highways. Not to mention that this job actually shows a lot of promise and a decent future so yeah, I'm looking forward to getting started. :)

Now, Where Was I?

I have no idea why I haven't posted here in damn near four months, or what has brought me here to update this all but dead web page of mine. I think the novelty wore off on me, or I just don't have the patience anymore.... I dunno. I honestly doubt that anybody even checks back here to see what's new in the life of Brian Dunn so I guess I can swear and make rude comments. Oh wait, I was doing that before.

I decided to change the title of my page from "If Only Stupidity Was Painful" to what you see above this now. I just turned 29 yesterday and I'm in a mood for change. I have one week left of a machining course that I'm taking during the week days and then I'm hoping to find another job. The resumes have already been mailed out to a few places that I've spotted and with any luck I'll be back to working full time hours for a new employer very shortly.

I'm sitting here thinking of all the things that have happened over the last four months and man, I really have a lot of catching up to do. Perhaps it is best if I just start fresh from this day forward...lol.

Anyway, thanks to those who have emailed me and were giving me e-kicks to the ass to get going again on my blog. It's something I'd like to keep going and haven't figured out why I let it slide for so long. If you come by this updated site and are still around, let me know how things are going and that you're still alive.

I'll be talking to you soon. :)
